Monta Loma is three developments reading as one neighborhood: Eichler's “Fairview” tract of 1954 — his first after splitting with Anshen & Allen, designed by Jones & Emmons — plus Mackay Homes' “Oakwood” flattops of 1955–56 and Mardell Manor. Modest three-bedroom, two-bath flattops around 1,100 square feet.
That mix makes Monta Loma one of the best places to see how Eichler's competitors interpreted the same idiom — and it has long been the affordable entry point to mid-century-modern ownership in Mountain View, minutes from the tech campuses that define the buyer pool.
