Green Gables is where the Eichler story gets serious: the first 63 homes went up in 1950 to Anshen & Allen's AA-1 design — about 1,100 square feet, three bedrooms, one bath, slab-on-grade post-and-beam with redwood-framed walls of glass. Architectural Forum named it a “Subdivision of the Year.”
Like Greenmeadow, it joined the National Register on July 28, 2005. Register listing has not frozen the neighborhood in amber — altered homes exist and are documented — which is exactly why original-condition examples carry a premium here.
For a buyer who wants the earliest chapter of California modernism you can actually live in, this is it.
